Both Steve and Andy saw the results of their unrelenting pursuit of HMRC this week.
Steve received a letter from HMRC confirming that a client’s PAYE liability was indeed £30K too high, due to “an issue with [HMRC]’s software. Shame they didn’t admit this before issuing bankruptcy proceedings last Summer!!
Our client finally received a £17K tax refund. £3k of this related to April 2014!! That’s 20 months to issue a refund. It’s quicker to have a baby!!
