Have you extracted as much cash as possible from your company in the most tax efficient manner? One client thought so, but last week Andy managed to find another £4k of funds for one client to draw.

At one of our regular workshops, we showed a client making over £100,000 a year how they could easily increase profits by 900%. Increasing employment, and improving their already enviable work/life balance. If you would like to attend one of our Practice Measurement and Improvement workshops (‘The Numbers’), please get in touch.

In the run up to Christmas, we filed ten sets of accounts just before their filing deadlines. This saved clients over £3,500 in fines, despite their delays in getting information to us!!

We are working hard to complete your tax returns so that you don’t incur a fine! Do we have your tax return information? If not, please get in touch as soon as possible – all these balloons need to be popped by the end of Jan!

Congratulations to Reece, who passed his Accounts Preparation exam for level 3 AAT. Brilliant work! Our Team Meeting had an extra special something this week … it seems that ‘secret’ Santa had visited! (although most of us had guessed who ‘he’ was!) We wish you all a very Happy Christmas, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. We will be here, raring to go in 2016, ‘Making Lives Better’.

Brad passed his level 3 AAT exam for preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts. He now has just one more exam left to finish his level 3 – which he should sit at the beginning of February. Rachael gained an amazing 98% on her last assignment – which bodes  well for the classification of her Business and Management degree.

We recently implemented some tax planning for a client and they were delighted when we were able to give them a cheque for £14,000 on Monday. We finally managed to release a tax refund in excess of £17,000 for a client, 20 months after the original claim for repayment was submitted! We never give up! Annual tax savings of £19,560 were identified for a local business simply by changing their trading entity. That’s an extra £376 a week into their pocket.

Both Steve and Andy saw the results of their unrelenting pursuit of HMRC this week. Steve received a letter from HMRC confirming that a client’s PAYE liability was indeed £30K too high, due to “an issue with [HMRC]’s software. Shame they didn’t admit this before issuing bankruptcy proceedings last Summer!! Our client finally received a £17K tax refund. £3k of this related to April 2014!! That’s 20 months to issue a refund. It’s quicker to have a baby!!

A client got a £14K cheque from HMRC last week. Since this only took four months to produce, we report this as “normal” good news!

Congratulations to our clients Toby and Helen, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last week.
