Over the past year I have been the secretary for Pelynt young Farmers. We are a charity raising money to give to a charity of our choice.
We decided that all money raised for 2014 would be donated to ‘The Liskeard Triangle Centre’. This is a charity based at Liskeard Hospital which provides chemotherapy to the local cancer patients, and support to the patients, family and friends. It saves the patients and families a lot of time (and trauma) in travelling to Derriford hospital in Plymouth.
As a small club we raised £3,500.00, which we presented to the Triangle Centre last night. A lady came to give us a talk about the centre, and told us that our donation was the biggest one she had ever received.
As you can imagine that had a real ‘feel good’ factor – especially as it is a charity so close to our hearts.
