Steve agreed a plan for the implementation of new accounting and project management software with a client last week. The phased program will deliver £10,000s of efficiency savings every year, without having to disrupt the current smooth running of their office.

Welcome to our newest clients – Andrews Building & Carpentry Limited Terrapotta Trees Limited

This week Georgia appealed a client’s Payroll fine with HMRC – and got it written off! The fine had been outstanding since October but took less than 2 weeks from appeal, which is a great result.

Last week’s budget saw the team ‘scoping’ LIVE from our offices. This was an interactive session, allowing anyone in the world to ask us questions or make comments as the budget was being presented by means of an ‘app’ called Periscope. This is now the third time we have scoped the budget – with Steve commenting on the speech as it unfolds – and its relevance to us all. While this was happening, Brad was on Twitter relaying the details too! If you missed the LIVE event, you can find it on our YouTube channel – the link can be found via this site. Steve has also written a budget review – this can be found below.

We cannot claim credit for this, but it seems the Chancellor is postponing plans to raid our pensions and cut the incentives to save for our retirement. Apparently, it’s more important to win an upcoming referendum than clear the budget deficit, according to most commentators!!

We have assisted a client to implement a full Auto Enrolment which has allowed them to offload all of the workload from their desk. If you are not sure about your responsibilities please contact the office –  who will be happy to assist.

Steve had a couple of meetings last week, answering client concerns on payroll, the CIS and other accounting matters. If you need some reassurance, our fixed fee arrangements allow you unlimited advice and support.

Our pre year end meetings are proving particularly cost effective at the moment. Steve ran through the changes to SME taxation with two clients last week, saving them £1,000s in tax by showing them ways to reorganise their family finances.

By helping a client to prepare an accurate statement of account for one of their customers, Andy helped them to prove that they were owed in excess of £2,000. Now to help them get paid!
