New clients
Welcome to Neil, Dave and Nick, Sam and Carol, Joan and Richard, and James, our newest clients.
Adding to our tax refund total
Another week, another refund. Client who has struggled financially this year, was delighted to hear that we could generate a tax refund of over £5,000 for his company. Last week, we were informed by HMRC that “the cheque’s in the post”. Now I know that usually means, “I’m thinking about maybe putting some thought into getting a cheque written some time before the next millennium,” but HMRC usually deliver on their promise. That makes a grand total of over £65,000 of tax refunds this year – this excludes all the tax we have prevented from being paid in the first place! So, if you want an accountant who looks at “Making Lives Better” in 2015, by cutting your tax bills (legally so you can sleep at night), you know where to find us.
Working together to bring stunning results to our clients
There are some things we are not allowed to do, so we find advisers who can. Working with an IFA, we have finalised a plan which not only saves a client over £150,000 in Corporation tax, but removes £800,000 from their taxable estate and generates a further £4,000 a year of annual tax savings. Total tax savings exceed £500,000 and they retain control over their assets! If you want to know how you can get the same result, just ask us.
Good news for all
2015 promises to be a year of great opportunity, and we have already identified seven new initiatives that we want to bring to our clients. Keep watching for news as we roll them out!
And finally …
Thank you for your support during 2014. We appreciate that we haven’t always been perfect, but we are working hard to “make ourselves better”.
A big thank you
A big thank you to our client Carl Meyer, for the gift of a bouquet of flowers to congratulate us on our relocation. They look beautiful in our reception. Our clients are great!
We have moved!
Our office move on Monday went amazingly smoothly! By the end of the day we were fully operational, with all telecons restored – a minor miracle! We are thrilled with our new ‘space’! Come visit when you next pass, and we’ll take you on a Grand Tour!! As we mentioned in our last bulletin, we are much more central, easy to find, and now have dedicated parking. Even in this, our aim is ‘Making Lives Better’.
Work ON, not IN!
[Originally a guest post on www.owenjonesdesign.com] Introduction It is a real problem when you are doing something you love isn’t it? You set up your business because you are good at something, or you are passionate about it, or both, but you never seem to make progress. You are busy doing what you love, but somehow it’s not as rewarding as you’d thought it would be. Very often, that is because you are working IN, and not ON your business. What’s the difference? If you are going to reap the rewards of your hard work, then you’ll need to balance these two aspects. Before you can do that, you need to understand what they are. Working in the business This is basically doing the stuff for clients/customers that the business was set up to do. For Owen, this is producing high quality design ideas, and implementing them as part of…
We are on the move!
After 12 years in our current offices, we are moving! We have found a more central location in Plymouth, and will be moving in on 1st December 2014. Our new address, from that date will be: Ensign House Parkway Court Longbridge Road Plymouth PL6 8LR We will have a new telephone and fax number, and we’ll let you know them when we are told what they are. You may experience some difficulties in communicating with us for a week or so while we wait for our telecoms and internet connections to be installed, but we will let you know how you can contact us in the transitional period. Our new offices look smart, provide us with more space, and higher standard accommodation. In addition to that there is free parking, and we’re easier to find!! We look forward to welcoming you to our new offices, and continuing to “make lives…
Making lives better
Steve ran through our profit potential planning (our PMI system) with two clients last week. One identified profit growth of over 1,000% by implementing small changes to their existing structure. The second client will benefit by a tripling of profits. Working with a local IFA, we have identified over £60,000 of tax savings for a client, who is approaching retirement. Originally, the savings were to accrue over 5 years. Steve identified some modifications that mean the savings are now secured over a 14 month period. Last week Steve attended a meeting in London for a client. John wanted someone there who understood technical tax terms. He was very grateful that Steve was there, who could explain everything that was said at the meeting by other professionals who don’t feel the need to speak in ‘plain English’ to their clients! On Friday, Steve was contacted by a client who needed a…
