This week we have moved another client across to Xero and Receiptbank, saving them over 4 hours per week of accounting in the process! What could you do with the extra time?! (and money!) Xero has also now added the ability to raise quotes on their system. Talk to us if you’re looking for a system that can help you to streamline all of your accounting process.

‘Making Lives Better’, from Emily
Over the past year I have been the secretary for Pelynt young Farmers. We are a charity raising money to give to a charity of our choice. We decided that all money raised for 2014 would be donated to ‘The Liskeard Triangle Centre’. This is a charity based at Liskeard Hospital which provides chemotherapy to the local cancer patients, and support to the patients, family and friends. It saves the patients and families a lot of time (and trauma) in travelling to Derriford hospital in Plymouth. As a small club we raised £3,500.00, which we presented to the Triangle Centre last night. A lady came to give us a talk about the centre, and told us that our donation was the biggest one she had ever received. As you can imagine that had a real ‘feel good’ factor – especially as it is a charity so close to our hearts.
Making lives better
We have implemented a plan, drawn up with a client, to take on responsibility for the whole management of their business. This will safeguard their income from the company (which far exceeds the income they could generate by selling the business and investing the proceeds), and protect the jobs of six people working in the business. They’re thrilled we are doing this – and we’re chuffed we can help!
We can’t help ourselves!
We had some furniture delivered on Friday. The owner got chatting to Steve and mentioned that he had made a loss in the first year due to the purchase of two vans. Steve identified a way in which he could generate a tax refund of over £2,600. He wasn’t aware of the opportunity before. A small delivery job has rewarded him at over £1,000 per hour! Not a bad afternoon’s work.
And there’s more to come!
Our next seminar will be held on Thursday 19th February. It will demonstrate how small changes can lead to HUGE benefits to you and your family. Our case study generated an extra £2.3m of tax paid wealth. How much could you generate? Come and find out! Contact us to reserve your place.
Taking advantage
Introduction A lot has been written about the fall in oil prices, the low inflation expected in the UK, and the deflation now being recorded in the Eurozone. Deflation is considered to be a dangerous thing. The argument goes something like this. Prices fall, and consumers decide to wait before buying anything, in the hope that prices fall further. While this may sound like good news, it puts retailers and manufacturers under pressure. Their profits are lower, and in turn, they look to cut back on investment, and costs. Costs include wages, which mean employees have less to spend, which means they hold off on major purchases, thus reinforcing the cycle. Japan, in particular has experienced a couple of decades of very slow economic growth, caused in part by this kind of deflation. As a consequence, it has lost its global reputation for innovation, and in turn market share for…
Team news
We are delighted to welcome Charlie to our team. Starting on 7th January, she will spend much of her time helping Priscilla with our “visitor experience” offering, and administrative tasks. However, she has many other talents, and so will be helping Rachael with our marketing efforts, starting with our second £2.2m seminar in February. As soon as we have convinced her to give us a photo(!), you’ll be able to read a little more about her on our website. Brad passed his ethics exam at the end of December, and now has just one more to complete his level 2 qualification. Well done Brad!
